Mike and Lynn: Engagement

FUNNY STORY: When I opened my studio door to greet Mike and Lynn my mouth hit the floor. Lynn and I went to high school together and our paths have not crossed since we graduated. Lynn has not changed one bit. Still gorgeous and gracious and with Mike by her side….well how do you say lucky in French? Why French you ask…Mike is from Paris and his French roots will be the theme of their August 2007 wedding. Lynn and Mike are planning an elegant bilingual wedding at Elm Bank in Wellesley. I can’t wait!!!!

VOA:Boston Action Team and the Boston Red Sox

Boston Red Sox player Alex Cora joined several local high school students who are members of the Boston Action Team on Thursday, June 14 at Fenway High School to encourage inner city youth to get involved in their communities by volunteering in and around Boston during the summer. Administered by Volunteers of America and the Major League Baseball Players Trust, the Action Team program was created to encourage young people throughout the United States to volunteer in their communities. George and Becca's Island Wedding 6.9.07

George and Becca were married last weekend on quaint picture perfect Peaks Island located off the coast of Maine. Becca grew up in Maine but currently lives in Virginia. What a beautiful and ohh soo FUN couple!!! The ceremony and reception were both held at the Inn at Peaks Island, which was an absolutely perfect location for this elegant yet festive wedding!!! George and Becca love life and live it! This couple is as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. It was very moving to capture the love that surrounds this couple…real family love!! Becca is the last of three daughters to get married and it was touching to see her father take in the whole celebration. The newlyweds said goodbye to their guests as they sailed their sailboat off the island!!!

Back from Maine

We are back from a capturing the wonderful, beautiful and F-U-N wedding of George and Becca. Their wedding was celebrated on Peaks Island in Maine. The bride’s parents Jim and Corki were so sweet and so were the accommodations…a private relaxing cottage located right on Sabbathday Lake. We made friends with Peter our four-legged pal who was happy to have some city folk to play fetch with over and over again!!

My Family Heirloom

My grandmother Katherine wore this wedding ring for 52 years. The doctors had to cut the ring off her finger moments before she left us. I can't seem to bring myself to get the ring repaired. To me it is a symbol of my grandparent’s love affair that spanned 62 years. Maybe someday I will take it to get mended..someday!

Something old..and so much more

Marnie’s grandmother was with her on her wedding day not only in spirit but also in these beautiful family heirlooms. It meant so much to Marnie to have her grandmother’s engagement ring and handkerchief play such an important role on her wedding day. As a photographer these details are as beautiful to photograph as the stories they hold. Images like this one add so much history and texture to a wedding album.

We are off to Maine..an island wedding!!

I will be out of the studio from June 8th - June 13th. I am off to Maine to photograph Becca and George’s island wedding. I am jumping around the studio with excitement!! Maine is one of my favorite places on earth. The bride's parents Corki and Jim are nice enough to provide us with a wonderful cottage right on the water!! Check back next week to see some images of their island celebration. All emails and inquiries will be answered by Friday June 15th.

How they met
Her version: We caught each other's eye in passing one day and I later asked him to lunch under the pretext of hearing about his latest travel excursion. (I had done my research you see...) A few emails, a lunch or two later, and we were off to Sperryville Virginia for our first day together. Not ones to be deterred by the rain, we gathered our gear and ventured out for a hike. Later, the day brightened considerably when we stumbled onto Sharprock Vineyards and enjoyed a glass of their Sauvignon Blanc together. The rest unfurled from there.

His version: I don't remember the date. I don't remember the weather and I certainly wasn't expecting it. But I DO remember exactly how I felt. Click. I froze. And I knew there was something VERY special about the woman who walked by my office. Fast-forward six months to our first lunch together; two salads, an iced tea and a ginger ale and there was no turning back.
