John and Anne {married} Hampshire House

John and Anne were married in front of 100 of their closest family and friends in the Boston Public Garden. The event was black tie and sneaky. Only this couple has a secret wedding in the garden and gets away with itJ

The Hampshire House hosted the reception and John and Anne are living happily ever after.

Behind the scenes

  1. John and Anne live a stones throw away from my studio. I love having clients turn into friends and love even more when they live so close by.
  2. John uses big words. John knows how to use big words. John uses big words well.
  3. Obviously Anne is a knock out but she is also smart, sarcastic and witty. My type of girl. AND she smokes cigars.
  4. Because of them I make sure the studio is stocked with prosecco and smarties…at all times.
  5. Anne dyed her shoes blue...herself.
  6. {the best part} They changed their surnames after they got married. She did not take his name. He did not take her name. They made up their own name.

{studio news} this and that

First off. The image above..sisters. I love it!

Second. I just celebrated my anniversary. Still feel like the luckiest lady in the world!

I am so happy that spring is here. I spent the last few days of winter pumping 8 inches of water out of my basement…but feel fortunate that nothing was damaged or lost. When we bought our home our new neighbors warned us of possible flooding so we kept everything off the ground. I also found out that my metallic Hunter rain boots are not only fashion fabulous but also functional!

{not bragging just excited}
I love photographing weddings because I love people. Last week I meet with two incredible couples and I’m so thrilled that they selected my studio to photograph their weddings.
Meeting with Hannah (Hannah & Craig 7.31.2010} this week to go over the details of their 4 day European wedding. She has sent me images of some of her wedding details and I am counting down the days.
I am still behind on my blog posts. There is a lot going on behind the scenes here at the studio☺ so stay tuned.
and…this is long over due but my images from my trip Peru are being featured on the Choclo Project website, a French clothing company doing amazing work to help the children of Peru! Check out the images under the active artist section.

{Heart Gallery portrait} Elijah

I heart the Heart Gallery. This is the 4th year that I have volunteered with this fantastic organization. I was lucky enough to get to know and photograph Elijah, 10 years old. He loves playing basketball and skittles. His gorgeous face will be included in the upcoming Heart Gallery exhibition.

{studio news} 3,400 miles

I am back from my road trip. 3,400 miles in two weeks. It was a fabulous trip that included visiting C d’ Zan, touring the mangroves in the Everglades, visiting the Smithsonian National Museum of National History in DC, thrift shopping (I found an vintage baby scale!!!), hanging out with dolphins, a surprise birthday party, visiting the Edison & Ford Winter Estates and eating deep fried creamed corn...yes you read that correctly deep fried creamed corn.

My vacation was supposed to end on the sweet note of photographing Beth and Matt’s (October 2008) twin baby boys but we had to reschulde for next moth because mom was feeling not so fabulous. Can’t wait to see their boys!

I’ll be posting images from this adventure but only after I am caught up on my blog posts. I still have so many weddings and sessions to rave about and they of course will take priority!

{special thanks}

~ My friend Jen for going on this road trip with me for the third year in a row and for making me apple and cheese sandwiches while I drove.
~ The Freedman family showing us around the Everglades
~ The Witcher Family for introducing us to white burgundy wine
~ Uncle Joe for showing driving us around Chapel Hill in your electric car and drawing us handwritten maps that lead us to exactly what we were looking for.
~ My husband for painting our living room while I was away and taking care of our dog-child Ernie.
